The Research Scientist, under general supervision, designs, performs, and analyzes experiments for the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center.Responsibilities:Plan, design and execute program evaluation plans including data collection and data analysis; and prepare reports for publication and presentation at professional meetings.Assist in planning and performing quantitative and qualitative research procedures in various prevention/intervention areas related to juveniles and their families.Assist with the development, design and execution of large and complex research projects; and participate in the development and implementation of research protocols.Participate in acquiring research funding including writing grant proposals.Travel to and from research study sites, conference presentations and professional development.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Education & Experience:Ph.D. in an applicable fieldSix years of related experience.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to supervise othersDemonstrated thorough understanding of various statistical analysis packages, such as SPSS, SAS, R and data management.Strong analytical, oral communication, organizational and writing skills.Detail-oriented and able to adhere to deadlines.Willing to work collaboratively with colleagues, state and federal agencies.Preferred Qualifications:Seven (7) years of research experience, may include years committed to research during Graduate School.Job Posting Close Date:Required Attachments:Please attach all required documents listed below in the attachment box labeled as either “Resume/CV or Resume/Cover Letter” on the application.
