EHS SpecialistJob Description:The Role:The Entegris EHS Team is looking for an EHS Specialist to support the manufacturing activities at our Decatur, Texas facility. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will play a critical role in driving a proactive culture in creating an injury-free work environment, promoting new initiatives, and achieving industry best performance. This position is also one of the key members participating on the site's Safety Leadership Teams (SLT).This role is a member of the Specialty Chemicals & Engineered Materials (SCEM) EHS team and will report directly to the Decatur EHS Manager, as well as work closely with the SCEM site leaders.In this role you will:Ensure compliance with all applicable Corporate and Regulatory environmental, health, safety, and security rules.Be responsible for development/implementation and periodic review/updates of EH&S programs.Train and audit programs such as confined space, LOTO, SPCC, Forklift, Cranes, Hazcom, Fall Protection, Fire Safety, PPE, and others.Conduct new hire safety orientation.Strive for an incident-free workplace.Participate in the review of site facility layouts, designs, modifications regarding life safety requirements, applicable codes, regulations, and equipment/tool EH&S requirements.Develop and implement systems to monitor health protection and industrial hygiene of all employees. Serve as coordinator with corporate IH support. Maintain an IH program of annual monitoring and training applicability.Track and maintain environmental programs such as the site air, waste, boiler, and storm water permits.Track employee EHS input, injury/incidents, and regulatory information. Communicate with agencies and corporate officials. Submit accurate regulatory and performance metric reports.Manage site environmental health and safety teams, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the site Safety, Ergonomic and Environmental (S.E.E.) Committee. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.Ensure emergency response plans, including evacuation plans, fire prevention; spill control plans remain current and applicable. Provide training and support for emergency response, first aid, and spill response.Support site security programs/efforts as necessary.Be an active participant/leader of Site Emergency Response Team.Traits we believe make a strong candidate:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience or 5 years in an industrial environment with a strong emphasis on health & safety, or a B.S. in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, engineering, or Applied Sciences degree.Professional certification (CSP or CIH) a plus but not required.Knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations, industry standards and best management practices pertaining to occupational health & safety.Good interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships quickly and effectively at all levels throughout the company.Knowledge of hazardous materials management, environmental regulations a plus.Comfortable with leading health & safety training.Ability to work with people in a culturally diverse environment.Ability to communicate effectively, both on a written and oral basis.Ability to use a computer.High level of initiative.Good communication skills (written, oral and presentation).Your success will be measured by:Key performance indicators such as recordable injury rate, lost and restricted work days, proactive EHS performance metrics; and execution of effective resolution to findings and recommendations from audits, inspections and investigations.Aligning individual goals and their impact on team success.
