Under the supervision of the Radiologist, operates imaging equipment to obtain fluoroscopic images according to Radiologist specifications and assists in protocols/procedures as required. The Interventional Radiology Technologist prepares patients for procedures, reviews medical history, positions the patient, and administers contrast media and/or medications. The technologist works closely with physicians and nurses to monitor patient conditions and responds to changes as appropriate.Job Responsibilities:

CLINICAL DECISION MAKING:

Utilizes the professional code of ethics to establish relationships with patients and families, formulates clinical decisions, performs quality diagnostic exams, and functions as a preceptor/mentor.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Initiates plans for continuous educational development, seeks feedback from the healthcare team, and demonstrates advanced knowledge in specialty.HEALTHCARE TEAM RELATIONSHIPS:

Builds and nurtures relationships, role models effective delegation and negotiation skills, and seeks mentoring relationships.PROCEDURES:

Scrubs, circulates, and documents all Interventional procedures successfully, maintains sterile technique, and has completed ACLS and the Baystate Dysrhythmia course.Required Work Experience:

Graduate of an approved radiology program.Preferred Work Experience:

1 year as an Interventional Radiology Tech.Skills and Competencies:
