The Audio & Video Infrastructure team builds and maintains our WebRTC software and scales the system that powers it for all our users. Your role will have a significant impact on the quality of experience for all Discord users utilizing these features. Build large scale realtime audio & video systemsScale the system and optimize quality and reliability for usersCollaborate with product teams to add new features.Work with a talented team of engineers who have built one of the largest communication platforms in the world.You Will Thrive In This Role If
3+ years of experience working with video infrastructureStrong background in C++ or RustExperience working with WebRTCYou understand the basics of observability and monitoring.You excel in undefined environments and get excited about finding solutions to complex technical challengesComfortable reading and writing code in large existing codebasesBonus Points
Experience with ElixirFamiliarity with codecs such as H.264, HEVC and AV1Experience with network protocols like RTMP, HTTP, UDP and QUICYou have built or contributed to open source projects.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000 to $201,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
