Query Understanding, Core Ranking, Knowledge Graph, Autocomplete) and the entire search platform of the world’s largest online marketplace. We are looking for passionate software engineers to join the eBay Search Science Infrastructure and Data Engineering team.What You Will Accomplish

Design and implement systems, infrastructures, and big data workflows to support the various data science teams at eBay as well as contributing to advancing the broader platforms of eBay Search and even beyond to all of eBay. As a member of the Search Science Infrastructure and Data Engineering team, there are a variety of interesting technical areas to work ranging from Spark/Scala or PySpark development, through to Airflow workflow development, CI/CD, batch and stream workflows, data quality and data deployment related initiatives, and more. Work closely with various partner teams on understanding technical needs, pain points, agility killers, and research, propose, design, build, test and support relevant solutions and infrastructures.What You Will Bring

BS/MS in Computer Science or related discipline with experience in the areas of big data processing, data engineering, workflow orchestration, online servicesExperience with large scale data-driven systems is highly desired, and/or online services experienceExperience in majority of: Python, Spark, Scala, Hadoop, Java, Docker, Linux, shell scripting, Git, SQLDesirable to have experience in: Airflow, NoSQL, Kafka, Jenkins, Elasticsearch, REST APIDesirable to have an understanding of information retrieval systems, online search processing, and machine learningExperience in object-oriented design methodologyMinimum of 6 years relevant industry experience desiredThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$135,200 - $205,700Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
