Division Supervisor/Assistant Chief Operator

The Division Supervisor/Assistant Chief Operator performs a variety of supervisory, semi-skilled, and skilled technical work in the operation, maintenance, and process control of the wastewater treatment facility and pump stations. Supervises, directs, and coordinates the work of the plant operators and maintenance staff. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and responsibility for the maintenance of the plant and pump stations. Assumes the responsibility of the Division Director/Chief Operator in the event of his/her absence.Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent PLUS 5 years of operational experience in a wastewater treatment facility (or any equivalent combination of education and experience). Valid State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with tanker and airbrake endorsements; Massachusetts Grade 7 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License (or as required by Section 257 Code of Massachusetts Regulations), or ability to obtain licensure. Ability to respond to a plant or pump station emergency within 30 minutes. Certification, or ability to obtain certification, in the FEMA National Incident Management System ICS up to and including 200, and OSHA 10-hour Certification.
