UCSF Health is seeking a Vice President of Core Services to lead shared clinical services across inpatient and ambulatory sites, inclusive of: Lab, Pathology, Imaging and Rehab Services. The leader will ensure all sites have the clinical teams and services needed to meet their quality and safety goals as well as operational needs. The leader will oversee the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to the shared clinical services; defining the performance management goals and monitoring progress against those goals; overseeing procurement and equipment and supplies to support the core services; allocating space, services and equipment aligned with the strategic plans and site needs; and providing regulatory oversight. UCSF Health is comprised of UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, UCSF Medical Center at Mt. Zion, and UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, Children's Hospitals in Oakland and San Francisco, Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital and Clinics; UCSF Benioff Children's Physicians; and the UCSF Faculty Practice Organization.The SVP/ Chief Operating Officer (COO) of UCSF Health is responsible for ensuring coordination and alignment of strategy and resources across UCSF Health. Areas of direct responsibility include Perioperative Services, Clinical Services (Pharmacy, Lab, and Radiology), Facilities, Supply Chain, Major Construction, Patient Experience, Clinical Technologies and Nursing Education. The SVP/COO also has matrixed responsibilities for COOs from the individual business units (Adult, Children, Ambulatory/Faculty Practice and Network) and works with the COOs from the other UC medical centers.The SVP/COO is responsible for an operating budget of approximately $1.5 billion and approximately 4000 FTE.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, health administration or clinical degree and / or equivalent experience / training.Extensive executive management experience in a complex health care organization.Expert knowledge of health care delivery models, business and strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development.Highly advanced ability to work collaboratively and effectively with medical center executives, campus leadership, external agencies, and other academic medical centers and healthcare institutions.Expert ability to establish and utilize metrics to drive excellence, support operations and facilitate integration.Expert knowledge of capital and operating budget development and management, financial analysis, and reporting techniques.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Expert negotiation and influencing skills.Highly advanced ability to build and maintain a climate of trust that inspires commitment to achieve organization goals.Preferred Qualifications
