Lead Software Engineer (DevOps/SRE)

We are seeking DevOps Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
What You’ll Do:Lead technical initiatives and problem solving in the DevOps space to drive the transformation of software delivery practices across 30+ application teams and 100+ applications.Engage with internal customers, creating a path towards their destination architecture, and maximizing the efficiency, performance, and scalability of their applications.Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment.Leverage programming languages (Python, Golang) and AWS Services (ECS, Fargate) to enable the deployment of distributed systems with a focus on high scalability, availability, and performance.
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree.At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply).At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.
Preferred Qualifications:7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience.4+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby).2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes.2+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).2+ years of experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).2+ years of experience working with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, TeamCity, Circle CI).2+ years of experience with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB).2+ years of experience with deploying distributed web services.2+ years of experience working within Agile Development Practices.1+ years of experience with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, New Relic, Datadog, ELK, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
