Identify targets and convert them into customers while delivering sales objectives for the assigned market segment including sales volume, profits and market penetration. Responsible for selling, advertising, pricing, programs and methods of distribution to this market. Works with and through other Group functions to attain maximum effective sales and profits.Under limited supervision, the Strategic Account Manager is responsible for:Developing business relationships with entities active in the installation and sales of shower doors.Identification of potential Influences i.e. Contractors, Builders, Specifiers and determination of who can best serve specific customers will be of high priority.Developing expertise relative to national sales of plumbing products. Complete knowledge of Sales and Marketing strategies, product lines, price points, advertising and promotion activities and costs, etc. of Kohler and all major competitors is essential.Has primary responsibility for several large customers and one to two aligned/related channels.Ability to learn, develop and work through initiatives which come up for a start-up business.Possess ability to lead teams made up of multi-discipline personnel.Establish direct relationships with 10-20 shower door companies.Develop and drive initial strategic marketing activities.Assist in developing business objectives and product development.Formulate and communicate action plan for carrying out business objectives.Train and leverage support of staff on all sales and marketing matters.Serve as a resource for staff on comprehensive and detailed assignments.Specific Responsibilities
Sell.Plan, forecast, and implement marketing programs and promotions for the channel.Serve as a liaison between the channel and product management.Work with product management to analyze and evaluate the performance of product categories.Develop strategies and support programs to increase penetration of Kohler products to include pricing, marketing programs, and communication pieces.Develop annual business plan for the assigned channel.Manage Pricing - Monitor competitor promotions for each product group. Apprise product management of competitor activities and changes in the marketplace.Provide guidance and assistance to sales associates to promote Kohler products in accordance with established objectives.Actively participate in seminars, professional organization meetings, trade shows, etc. to keep abreast of new marketing concepts or other developments germane to the function.Oversee information provided to dealers. This includes bi-monthly Production and Marketing calls, monthly newsletter for all dealer departments as well as organizing and managing Kohler Community.Skills/Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Sales, Business Administration, or Marketing.4-6 years of sales/management experience with a consistent track record of results required.Must possess strong skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and with outside contacts.Travel to trade shows, manufacturing plants, and customer visits as needed, approximately 50% annually (domestic).Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.The salary range for this position is $99,450 to $124,300. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
