POSITION SUMMARY:HIAS seeks an Accounts Receivable Manager to support the day-to-day by ensuring proper invoicing and collection of HIAS funds. They will work closely with the Budget & Fiscal Compliance department to track all outstanding invoices, and they will maintain accurate database/records on all financial transactions and ensure these are appropriately coded, accurate and up-to-date. They will also complete the financial process by performing corresponding financial analysis, follow-up and reporting to support the operation with timely and accurate financial information. The Accounts Receivable Manager will serve as the liaison between the Development and Finance & Accounting departments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensures all monies due to the organization are collected promptly.Ensures accurate and timely invoicing.Ensures all cash received is recorded and properly applied in a timely manner.Ensures reconciliation of federal draws submitted, and subsequent payments received.Prepares invoices and billing to donors.Prepares accounts receivable aging.Contacts donors for outstanding payment.Processes deposits via digital check scanner and/or walking checks to the bank.Monitors merchant services account for correct credit card donations processed, and payments received.Assists with bank reconciliations.Assists with audit.Downloads and cleans contributions files from merchant services account and matches to Raiser’s Edge reports and funds received in bank accounts.Downloads lockbox contributions reports and matches deposits received in bank accounts.Matches donation files for contributions into NS system.Downloads cash receipts reports from collections and prepares for entry into the accounting system.Records daily contributions and deposits.Assists on special projects as assigned.Assists in the creation and implementation of process improvements.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.4-6 years of work experience in Accounts Receivable or finance position.Experience in nonprofit organizations preferred, but not required.Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills; ability to perform multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Highly reliable and flexible, with the ability to adapt quickly to various environments and situations.Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.
