Northern Light Sebasticook Valley HospitalDepartment : ImagingWork Type : PRNFTE : 0.000100 - Per Diem - Every 6th weekend, 7 AM - 7:00 PM rotation.Work Schedule : No Hours AssignedSummary :The Radiographer performs radiologic and CT examinations in accordance with all state/federal safety regulations. The Radiographer is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the prescribed amount of radiation for the purpose of obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by the radiologist.Responsibilities :Performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, and CT scanning utilizing equipment in accordance with department protocols.Performs all duties in a timely manner with minimum waste of supplies, materials, and time.Acts as a resource to all patients, physicians, and staff in a polite manner - referring to another resource when necessary.Prepares and/or administers contrast material.Takes call (within 20 minutes from Organization or onsite) as required by departmental needs.Schedules Imaging exams as needed.Completes charges and other clerical duties as required by shift.Learns PACS and assists providers as needed.Maintains equipment in good working operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturing recommendations.Prepares and orients patients to the procedures and provides patient education.Communicates necessary information to the radiologist for exam interpretation.Provides assistance in continuous quality improvement.Follows established safety methods and procedures in accordance with the department policies and documenting exam exposure factors.Ability to work independently.Maintains department according to procedures.Assists other departments in duties as requested and in accordance with Radiology scope of practice.Maintains a safe environment which includes knowing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures.Reports and directly addresses identified environmental hazards when appropriate.Reports and directly addresses violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.Other duties as requested by Director.Other Information :Required a Rad Tech State license and an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or registry eligible.Competencies and Skills :Behaves with Integrity and Builds Trust.Cultivates Respect.Demonstrates Adaptability.Effectively Communicates.Exercises Sound Judgment & Decision Making.Fosters Accountability.Practices Compassion.Promotes Health and Safety.Provides Patient-Centered Care.Resolves Conflict.Serves Others.Utilizes Resources Effectively.Credentials :Required Radiologic Tech-RadiographerEducation :Required Associate's DegreeWorking Conditions :Potential exposure to hazardous materials.Extend body and limbs to reach items.Prolonged periods of standing.Lifting, moving, and loading over 50 pounds.Prolonged periods of walking.
