Vedder Price is seeking a Financial Systems Analyst. The Financial Systems Analyst role is responsible for the daily technical support of critical financial and accounting systems to ensure accurate system operation and integrity of financial data. As a functional expert on the Firm’s financial systems, he/she will be the technical point of contact between the business unit and the Information Technology (IT) department. The role will design technical documentation of system updates, improve workflow and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness.

As the Financial Systems Analyst, your duties will include but not be limited to:

In coordination with the Finance/IT team management, drive the strategic technical architecture, software methodologies and processes, technical project management, implementation planning and software maintenance for critical financial systems and strategic financial projects.Serve as the technical lead on projects of increasing size and complexity.Provide support for revenue cycle improvement initiatives, including, but not exclusive to, billing, eBilling, cost recovery, collections, cash applications, and system integrations related to these functions.Provide end-user support of Thomson Reuters 3E billing and revenue cycle system issues, as well as manage issue escalation with Firm management, vendors and consultants.Assist in all phases of the revenue cycle process and related technology improvements, including developing and executing project plans that lead to successful implementation of initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, business requirements gathering and documentation, assisting in the evaluation of technology solutions, developing solution alternatives and recommendations, building test plans, and collaborating with developers.Participate in data validation and system testing; perform advanced data analysis to investigate issues.Support the development and implementation of training and change management plans.Oversee the technical aspects of implementing new systems related to Finance and Accounting.Participate in hardware/software R&D efforts, primarily for, but not limited to, Accounting/Finance applications.Manage specific financial applications quality assurance.Ensure continued operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements.Provide technical and application support to users of financial applications.Coordinate and provide end-user training as necessary.Analyze discrepancies in system performance and make recommendations for updates.Detect and correct errors in accounting systems by analyzing daily reports.Respond to ad hoc reporting and inquiry requests.Work with other departments on accounting related issues.Participate on project teams implementing new systems and enhancing or upgrading existing systems.Identify and recommend production customizations and enhancements.

Skills & Competencies:

Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with all other IT members, members of the firm (users of systems), and clients. Must have customer service attitude and ability to work well with other groups.Superior understanding of the firm's goals and objectives, with demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems.Strong organizational skills, capability to schedule and coordinate multiple activities in results-oriented environment. Initiative and ability to enforce policies and procedures through influence.Highly available and responsive to occasional after-hours issues, as the firm operates on a near 24x7 basis.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

Bachelor or Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems and/or Accounting, Finance, Business Administration required.3+ years of overall financial or accounting systems experience in the legal industry highly desirable.Knowledge of structured query language (SQL), and in-depth knowledge of financial, time entry and cost recovery applications required.3+ years hands-on experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management methodologies required.Advanced report writing experience using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, etc. required.Experience with core financial software applications, such as: Elite 3E, ChromeRiver, and Intapp Time required.Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping required.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:Microsoft OfficeMicrosoft SQL Server (TSQL)
