Grade: T27The link below will give you information about the University’s “T” salary structure.Learn more about the “T” salary structure.A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant’s education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Analyst utilizes data and information to answer questions, address organizational issues, or identify solutions to opportunities in a quantifiable manner through data visualization and interrogation. This entails working directly with Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) leadership to identify their needs, locating and assessing data sources that can be used to satisfy those needs, and manipulating that data using a variety of reporting and analytical tools to present information in a meaningful and actionable way. The analyst will integrate data from disparate sources to provide new insights, and will design and develop visualizations, interactive dashboards, and other displays to communicate results effectively. Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree and five years in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Information Management or another analytical or quantitative field required. Two to three years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Required Skills & Abilities:Significant experience with Business Intelligence toolsets.Knowledge of data warehouses and data marts, data modeling, data mining, database management, reporting, and critical thinking.Preference for experience with PowerBI or Tableau but others will be considered.Knowledge of Business Intelligence dashboard design concepts and best practices.Significant experience with relational databases and data models.Proficient in SQL with the ability to query complex data sets within a relational database.Ability to conduct quantitative research and present analytical studies in a fast-paced collaborative environment.Superior communication, organization, and presentation skills.Ability to understand user reporting requirements and develop reporting/visual designs that meet the end-user needs and the ability to explain data to end-users.Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite software programs.Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to work weekends and evenings, if necessary.Willingness to travel, if needed.This position requires a background check.This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.Temple University is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all in every aspect of its operations, including employment, service, and educational programs.
