Data Engineer Sr Advisor

you will be given the responsibility to perform ETL (extraction, transformation and load) application development/enhancement/maintenance in support of the Data Asset Services’ existing applications.HOW A DATA ENGINEER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Application development and maintenance to provide direct support and technical assistance for remote support activities on a 24X7 on-call basis. Support includes but not limited to:Systems/problem analysis, systems modification (coding)Configuration management/change controlTest script writing.Verification/validation of program changes (testing)Application documentation and systems security safeguards in accordance with the client’s standards and guidelines.Data modeling support as well as performance and tuning guidance to optimize ETL jobs and database queries including those queries/views that support Microstrategy reports utilized in the EDS Application.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred, but not requiredRequired Experience:

10+ years of related professional experienceRequired Technical Skills:

Demonstrated experience with Ab Initio ETL Coding in GDEDemonstrated experience with Ab Initio Metadata Hub LineageDemonstrated experience with Ab Initio TRMCDemonstrated experience with ANSI SQL and Teradata SQL extensionsDemonstrated experience with Teradata SQL Assistant (a.k.a. QueryMan) for EDS SupportDemonstrated experience with Teradata Utilities for EDS SupportDemonstrated Azure/Databricks Support experienceRequired Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge and experience with UNIX commands and concepts to navigate source code directories, find error logs, perform impact analysis assessments, edit code, version files.Knowledge and experience with Linux Shell scripting to read and create driver scripts.A working knowledge of how Ab Initio conducts data extract, transformations, and loading – especially to and from TeradataStrong working knowledge of development of graphs, plans, PSETs and how to develop tests and debug.Demonstrated experience with PDL scriptingDesired Skills & Abilities:

Strong knowledge of how Microstrategy and other OLAP tools interact with TeradataStrong knowledge of the major competing Data Warehouse modeling techniques (Third-Normal-Form and Dimensional modeling) and how data modeling decisions affect the performance of ETL, structured report queried, and unstructured data analysisStrong knowledge of Web API developmentStrong knowledge of storing, reading, and analyzing streaming data – i.e., kafka, mqseries, or similar technologies, such as JMSStrong knowledge of Cloud technology - developing and architectingSecurity Clearance Level:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThe Public Trust security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days in the past five years.Location

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
