The Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst is a key member of the Treasury team, advancing Flagstar's understanding of its customers, balance sheet, and risk exposures. The Analyst uses advanced quantitative and technical skills to produce insightful reporting, analysis, and recommendations that enable sound and profitable risk management and strategic decisions. The Analyst may have assignments related to interest rate risk measurement and management, liquidity risk measurement and management, asset valuation, asset profitability analysis, and fixed income investment portfolio management.Pay Range: $86,200.00 - $125,600.00 - $165,000.00Job Responsibilities
Development and maintenance of financial models used in risk measurement, income simulations, balance sheet management, or asset valuations.Analysis of model output, synthesis of information, and communication of conclusions and strategic recommendations in a clear and concise manner to senior managers, executives, and the Board.Testing of established models, including back-testing, benchmarking, sensitivity testing, and scenario analysis.Develop automated solutions to simplify challenging and repetitive processes.Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and completes required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or related field with 10+ years of experience or Master's Degree in Finance, Financial Economics, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Finance with 7+ years of experience.Job Competencies
Mastery of finance concepts.Comprehensive knowledge and solid understanding of statistics and quantitative methods preferred.Understanding of fixed income securities and analytics preferred.Proven experience with object-oriented and/or relational database programming preferred.Excellent analytical skills; strong written and oral communication skills, a clear, concise expository style.Advanced interpersonal relations skills.Strong project management skills.Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively, prioritize and multi-task within a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
