Summary
The
Senior Ecological Consultant
will function as a liaison between environmental regulators and our client base. Accordingly, the applicant must demonstrate the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex ecological and regulatory concepts to both subject matter experts and our clients. In addition to possessing high-level ecological fundamentals, excellence in written, graphic, and verbal communication are absolute prerequisites to the position.

– Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and remain flexible as business priorities change.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct field work in the role of Senior Ecologist producing: wetland delineations, imperiled species investigations, and plant community identification and mapping;Generate high-quality maps, sketches, and other graphics for technical reports and environmental permit applications;Utilizing Tremble GNSS equipment, generate, manage and manipulate spatial data;Author various reports and technical documents;Coordinate production schedules with colleagues and support staff;Assume professional accountability to clients, managers, and owners.QualificationsBachelors degree in Biology, Forestry or other Environmental ScienceA valid driver’s license with a good driving recordMust be proficient at wetland delineation with demonstrable experience establishing wetland jurisdictional boundaries that have been reviewed and approved by federal and state agenciesDemonstrate strong understanding of sediment biogeochemistry and wetland hydrologyProficiency with Tremble GPS, and basic office computer systemsSite identify key ecotonal plant speciesSite identify hydric soil indicators for Resource Regions in Georgia and the SoutheastConstitution suitable to strenuous outdoor work in harsh conditionsPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree with thesisSubstantial industry experience in the Southeast, particularly GeorgiaProfessional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist, ISA Arborist, Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner, etc.Business acumen10+ years of industry experienceEEOC Statement
