PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. Qualifications

Position Summary:

Assists the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Assistant Chief Nursing Officer in evaluating required hospital training for Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Mental Health Technicians. Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and non-clinical programs. Maintains documentation requirements for the programs. Provides patient nursing assessments as needed. Participates in Treatment Team meetings as needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Masters preferred)3-5 years of experienceDistrict of Columbia Nursing LicenseCPR CertificationAt least 3 years of direct clinical experience (Experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting preferred.)Experience in staff education, preparing and presenting training.Knowledge of adult learning principles, nursing sciences, and psychiatric theories.Experience completing patient assessments preferred.Knowledge of nursing practices, education concepts, practices and procedures.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff, patients, and patients' family members verbally and in writing.
