About the Position:The
Pharmacy Clinical Manager
oversees all daily clinical and operational activities of the Pharmacy Department . This includes planning, managing, and evaluating tasks and functions of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, including all aspects of patient care from a clinical perspective and from an ongoing organizational perspective. Additionally, this leader serves as the
Residency Program Director (RPD)
for the pharmacy’s PGY-1 Residency . As the RPD, the Manager is responsible for the continued development, oversight, and maintenance of the pharmacy residency program.
Responsibilities:
Serving as a preceptor for Pharmacy Residents and College of Pharmacy students
Designing, managing, measuring, and improving the medication management system
Ensuring quality outcomes through the coordination of performance-improvement activities
Working closely with the informatics teams on intermittent projects or continual optimization related to medication utilization
Managing the pharmaceutical supply chain to assure pharmacy has the necessary medications
Ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (includes residency)
Assisting in the development and maintenance of a formulary approved by the medical staff
Coordinating and working with P&T Chair on Pharmacy and Therapeutic meeting agenda, reports, and when necessary minutes
Effectively administering performance evaluations for assigned pharmacists
Qualifications & Requirements:Our ideal candidate will possess the heart of a servant leader and must be able to provide support and mentoring to the pharmacy clinical staff, and ensure your team is providing the highest level of safe, compassionate care to its patients. You will serve as a professional role model and clinical resource and educator for pharmacists and other members of your team, develop goals and objectives for your team, and will participate in budget/fiscal management.
PGY1 or PGY2 (Required)
Pediatric Experience (Strongly Preferred)
PharmD or Bachelors from an accredited Pharmacy program
Current Texas Pharmacist License or License Eligible
Bilingual - English / Spanish (Preferred)
