The Humanities Department at Roosevelt University invites applicants for the position of adjunct instructor of American Sign Language. Bachelor’s Degree in Sign Language Communications or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 18 hours in Sign Language Communications.Years of Experience Required:
1-2Required Education:
Bachelor's DegreeCertification/Licensure Required:
Appropriate credentials in the field (ASLTA certification or ASLPI Level 4, or Certified Deaf Interpreter: CDI or DI)Minimum Qualifications:
Refer to knowledge, skills and abilities above.Preferred Qualifications:Teaching at the high school or college level or the equivalent or at least one year’s full-time non-teaching work experience in the field.Experience working with at-risk and/or first-generation college students.Master’s Degree.Equipment Operated:
Standard office technology (computer, phone, etc).Working Conditions:
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).Departmental Contact Information:
