Join our world-class team today!Position Specific DescriptionThis position will lead a team focused on overseeing finance operations processes, ensuring effective governance, continuous improvement and resolving issues to deliver high-quality and cost-efficient services for NextEra Energy and all its stakeholders. The role will report directly to the Director of Finance Operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee Finance OperationsBuild and lead a team to ensure services are delivered at world-class cost and quality levels.Oversight of finance operations accounts payables processes, including managing aging activity impacting the financials, customer focus for issue support and internal controls.Own SOX and Corporate policies related to Finance Operations.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Monitor KPI’s to ensure enterprise processes and volumes are healthy and in control.Drive regular, meaningful discussions with business leaders about performance through balanced scorecards or issue escalation.Governance and ComplianceEstablish and maintain robust governance frameworks and control systems.Ensure all finance operations adhere to internal and external compliance standards.Work closely with the Director of Finance Operations and Internal Audit to perform risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies.Issue ResolutionAct as an escalation point for resolving complex financial issues and discrepancies.Implement and improve processes for efficient issue identification, tracking, and resolution.Develop a proactive strategy for identifying potential issues and mitigating them before they affect operations or financials.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement in finance operation processes.Set targets for process enhancements and drive initiatives to achieve these goals.Utilize data analysis to monitor process performance and implement best practices.Stakeholder EngagementEngage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and expectations managed.Facilitate regular communication with business leaders to provide updates on performance and issue resolutions.Gather stakeholder feedback to inform and improve finance operations.Preferred Capabilities and AttributesDemonstrated ability to drive improvements in a service operations environment.Deep understanding of value drivers, including continuous improvement methodologies, and the use of metrics and scoreboards.Experience with "light" or agile automation using simple, off-the-shelf solutions.Proven capability in leveraging outsourcing vendors to enhance cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.People LeadershipExceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor high-performing, engaged, and diverse individuals within the Finance Operations organization and across the enterprise.Strong focus on creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Track record of fostering an inclusive and productive work environment.Process KnowledgeDeep understanding of at least one major end-to-end process such as procure to pay or record to report.In-depth knowledge of what constitutes a world-class finance operation model.Awareness of typical automation opportunities within finance processes.Industry KnowledgeOperational understanding of both regulated and deregulated energy industries is preferred.Ability to apply industry knowledge to improve finance operations and processes.Job Overview
