This includes IT, Software Development, OT / Automation Systems, and business process improvement. At Vantage, we are very hands-on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware. We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes so we can make informed purchase decisions. The Technology & Systems department participates in designing each of our new data center building's networking infrastructure, including but not limited to diverse pathways connecting to carriers, meet-me room (MMR) hosting, wireless AP coverage, etc.We rely on utmost collaboration with Sales, Construction, Operations and Corporate Functions to drive simplification, establish global standards with continuous improvement and speed to value. Our focus is on speed to value with financial and execution discipline.Position OverviewVantage is looking for a high-reaching, diligent, Senior Network Engineer that is responsible for network operations and large scale projects globally. This is a very technical role requiring a solid understanding of networking technologies and concepts. This position is accountable for both Operational Excellence and Customer Service. A key responsibility of this position is leading and driving the network activities associated with large scale projects.This position will be based on-site at our office in Denver, CO, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).Essential Job FunctionsBAU network support during NA hoursLeading large scale network migrations in NADrive improvements to processes and proceduresMentoring helpdesk to become more proficient in networkingDesign and Support Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Hybrid Structures along with Azure Network Management Functions.DutiesCollaborate to design, build, and support all networks required for Vantage Corporate, Security Management Systems, Building Management Systems, and other needs as defined by the business, including creation/updating of all supporting documentationCreate, implement, and support standard processes and procedures to support Service Level Agreements to both Vantage business partners and Vantage customers for network uptime, reliability, service, and performanceAssist in the specification, ordering, purchasing, asset-tracking, and inventory of network-related equipment/supplies/softwareMaintain the network infrastructure globally, highlighting and recording issues identified, creating action plans to resolveUse necessary tools to identify and resolve complex issues in a timely mannerChallenge, report and escalate as necessary to resolve any issues affecting the availability, security or integrity of the network infrastructureWork closely with cybersecurity to ensure we are following policies and standard methodologies to secure and harden the networkActively research and investigate new tools/technologies to improve the efficiency of the teamLead and own large scale projects by creating effective project plans, leveraging internal tools (JIRA etc) to deliver accurate and timely updates to stakeholdersFunctions of this position are to be performed in a company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and follow the company's Acceptable Use Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards, if applicableAdditional duties as assigned by ManagementJob Requirements10+ years of progressive network engineering experience with multi-site global networks supporting highly transactional and highly sensitive data applicationsCCNP/JNCIP/CCIE/JNCIE level or higher experience requiredData Center experience is strongly preferred, but not requiredProficiency with Fortinet would be highly advantageous, but not essentialSkilled at an expert level troubleshooting LANs (layer 2 networks), fault finding and isolation, understanding of technologies such as Spanning Tree, Port channels, Stacking etcSolid experience with layer 3 routing, working with ISP's to resolve issues such as latency and packet lossSolid experience with firewalls, policies, VPNs, general concepts etc, understanding of advanced inspection and filtering techniquesExperience working on network migrations, creating project plans, leading multiple projects and delivering according to deadlinesProficiency in network design and architecture would be desirableSkilled in automation and scripting would be highly desirableParticipation in an on-call rotation would be requiredTravel required is expected to be 5 to 10% but may increase over time as the business evolvesPhysical Demands and Special RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
