Drupal Back-End DeveloperJob Description:

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Website Developer to join our team. The website developer will ensure our websites and content are operational, current and meeting the needs of our members and consumers. They will develop and manage standards for the NAIC’s web and electronic communication deliverables.

This is a full time position, working a hybrid schedule based out of our Kansas City, Missouri office.

Responsibilities:

Ensures websites meet the operational and security requirements of the organization.

Provides internal/external customer service to assure that websites can be appropriately updated by those with content management responsibilities.

Maintains professional standards and best practices for web platform and CMS maintenance with a focus on ADA compliance and SEO enhancements.

Develops and manages development standards for the organization’s web and electronic communications deliverables, including creating, managing, and optimizing RESTful API endpoints.

Fulfills management needs for project plans, status updates, division tasks, analysis, and deadlines.

Communicates with management, clients, and stakeholders to understand/execute projects.

Collaborates with the web team and Communications Division using Agile practices providing guidance on scope, level of effort, and priority for projects.

Monitors and resolves web-related service interruptions or errors on a priority basis if deemed necessary by leadership.

Provides training for interns and less experienced personnel on web postings.

Creates and maintains documentation for department processes and procedures.

Monitors trends and activities to ensure the NAIC maintains professional web development standards and practices.

Skills & abilities:

Experience with Drupal 9 or later and proficiency with analytics platforms like Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.

Strong experience in backend development, managing RESTful API endpoints, and familiarity with DevOps tools and environments, including Pantheon/AWS platforms and Lando for local development.

Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Twig, SQL, and Drupal API, theme, and module development.

Experience with Git repo management and understanding of GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

High degree of initiative and integrity with attention to detail and ability to meet demands in a dynamic environment.

Strong organization skills using Office 365, Slack, Webex, and JIRA.

Must be knowledgeable and proficient in working with Mac iOS.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree with three or more years previous web development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education:

Drupal Back End Certification

Compensation:

Starting at $70,521 up to $92,000. To be commensurate with experience and education.
