DescriptionAmazon Customer Service is seeking an outstanding Data Engineer to join Customer Service BI team to build and support the data platform and to drive the adoption of new technologies to support the rapidly growing and dynamic business and to have an immediate influence on day-to-day decision making at Amazon.The Amazon Customer Support Platform processes thousands of transactions every day across multiple countries and languages. The Amazon CS BI team stands squarely in the intersection of these systems, helping Amazon and its partners understand what the business did yesterday and influencing where it is going tomorrow. It delivers business intelligence to over hundreds of diverse community of internal customers from one of the world's largest and most complex data sets.We are looking for an exceptional Data Engineer who is passionate about data and the insights that large amounts of data sets can provide. The ideal candidate will possess both a data engineering background and a strong business acumen that enables him/her to think strategically. He/she will experience a wide range of problem solving situations requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis. The successful candidate will work in lock-step with Engineers, Business analysts, Product Managers and other stakeholders across the organization.Key job responsibilitiesDesign, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets using Big data, Redshift, No SQL databases.Interface with Tech Lead, and help delivering complete Data and BI solutions.Model data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built reporting. Design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.Tune application and query performance using Unix profiling tools and SQL.Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders.Basic Qualifications3+ years of data engineering experienceExperience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelinesPreferred QualificationsExperience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissionsExperience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.This position will remain posted until filled.
