How will this role have an impact?The Business Intelligence Developer will be a strategic resource on the Business Intelligence team within Signify Health. We are looking for a talented BI developer who is versatile and creative, and who can be an integral part of a small tight team that will build next-generation analytics that supports Signify and its partners. This role not only requires the ability to design prescriptive reporting solutions but also be hands-on in the database/backend data source to pull data using SQL to verify and test the visualizations. If you’re passionate about healthcare and want to help shape the direction of our next-generation features and products for our Health Partners, and make a significant impact on the health and lives of thousands of people, then we have the perfect position for you!In Addition, YouHave an entrepreneurial streakAre self-motivated and drivenJust get things doneRoll with the punches when the unexpected happens or if the team needs to pivot directionAre passionateHave strong report visualization and data design intuitionPay attention to user feedbackThrive in an environment of open feedback/brainstorming/sharingAre a team player and people like working with youAre intellectually curious and always wanting to learn moreInterested in creating a culture driven by metrics and experimentationEssential Job ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and monitor databases to resolve performance issues.Develop, deploy, maintain and debug SSIS packages.Develop, test, and maintain MS SQL Server databases.Work with Business Analysts to aid in the design of the system.Investigate and resolve problems of data accuracy and availabilityParticipate in integral testing to identify problems early.Perform error and stress scenarios.Participate in design and code reviews.Identify architectural issues and propose alternative solutions.Install upgrades and patches to existing databases.Develop and maintain data warehouse documentation.Education/Licensing RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.Master’s degree in a computer-related field is a plus.Experience RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in MS BI tools (SSRS, SSAS, Power BI)5+ years of relevant experience in report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence, or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques, and technologyMinimum of 2 years of experience in Power BIKnowledge of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of dataSuccessful work experience in MS SQL programming, database design, data warehouse design, query performance tuning, and writing stored procedures.Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processesExperience with Tableau or an equivalent reporting tool to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboardsUnderstanding of data modelsCreativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative dataExperience supporting a multi-database environment.Excellent understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems.Knowledge of best practices and software development processEssential Skills/ExperienceFluently speak, read, and write English.Good verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task.SQL programming, server integration, and reportingCuriosity and passion for data, visualization, and solving problemsCreativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative dataExperience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasetsWillingness to question the validity, accuracy of data, and assumptionsEnjoyment from collaborating with others in a team environmentEagerness to learn in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of medical data a plusWorking ConditionsFast-paced environment.Requires working at a desk and use of a telephone and computer.Normal sight and hearing ability.Use office equipment and machinery effectively.Ability to ambulate to various parts of the building.Ability to bend, stoop.Work effectively with frequent interruptions.May require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.Lifting requirements of
