This role is fully on-site for the first 90 days and Monday through Thursday after that.This is a full-time, direct-hire role, meaning no C2C/C2H.What does a Senior Mainframe Developer do at Fiserv?You will work in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation. You must be capable of producing high quality code, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role liaises with project managers, lead developers, business analysts, and may also include some client interaction.You will be working on two mission critical applications – PEP+ and APR/SMS.

PEP+

is a high-powered mainframe system that allows the bank to automatically receive and originate electronic payments through the ACH network in a straight-through processing manner. It enables online ACH access so you can improve your customer service capabilities. The base version of PEP+ automates ACH edits and interfaces, scheduling and settlement.

ARP/SMS

is a real-time positive pay and reconcilement system that streamlines back office operations, reduces the risk of fraud and enables you to provide broader services and new treasury management offerings. With ARP/SMS our payment management system, your staff can perform all maintenance, adjustments, additions, balancing, and control requests online and in real-time.What you will do:Develop code that meets design and architectural requirements and supports system testing.Understand the impact of changes across the application.Discuss aspects of the design with architects, team leads and business analysts to check understanding and raise concerns.Enhance and maintain existing application software, continually providing support for internally developed applications.Accurately communicate development status on a regular basis to team leads.Assist the production support team in defect analysis.What you will need to have:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree5+ years’ experience in COBOL, CICS, BMS Maps, VSAM, JCL and IBM Utilities experience5+ years’ experience with IBM Mainframes and TSO/ISPF development environment5+ years’ experience with Endevor or similar source control application5+ years’ experience in software design principles and software architectureDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills.A self-starter, who takes initiative with challenging situations.Ability to work independently, as well as work with others in a group development setting.Willingness to work minimal off hours for support, as needed.What would be great to have:2+ years’ experience with PEP+ Mainframe ACH Software.Experience building reusable components and modules.Experience with performance improvements and high-volume transaction processing.Experience with financial service applications.Experience with Agile/Kanban development methodologies.Experience with JIRA.Experience working with remote and offshore development teams.Experience with IBM DEBUG and File Manager.Experience with CLIST and REXX.Travel required:
