Position Summary

The Director of Operations, Americas will lead Stoneridge’s “relentless pursuit toward ideal state world class operations” (Safe Workplace, Defect Free, Zero Waste, on Demand, One by One). The role will have strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, efficiency, optimizing production levels and driving operational excellence.

Major Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for manufacturing operation activities across the Americas regionCreate and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, and procedures to aid and improve business performanceEnsure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of safety, quality, the operations budget, and the site Key Performance IndicatorsDrive Key Performance Indicators across all sites in the AmericasEvaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunitiesFormulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operationsParticipate in the operations short-term and long-range planning and budget developmentUnderstand the future growth and development of Stoneridge’s business and align the operational capabilities within the region for the most cost-effective support of the marketEstablish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achievement of overall business objectivesWork with the Manufacturing team to translate site strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPI’sCompare the plants’ performance to best-in-class operations and define improvement plans where necessaryIdentify opportunities for reduction in scrap and improved quality performance, both internal and deliveredEnsure world-class performance in plant safetySupport and promote lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvementProvide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibilityQualifications

An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in an engineering discipline. A Master's Degree in engineering, operations, or business is a plusMinimum of 15 years of progressive operational leadership experience, preferably including experience within the automotive industryDemonstrated ability to transform a diverse mix of operations into world class performance levels, including the implementation of systems and processes which support consistent quality, delivery and costProven ability to articulate and execute on commitments in order to meet projected goalsCustomer-focused and results-orientedProven interpersonal skills with a collegial, team-oriented style.
