WHAT IS THE
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION?A description of the business units can be found at:Twenty-One (21) vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Anywhere within Information Technology.The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.Advises on highly complex issues, studies, research and analysis projects related to security research, acquisition, design, development, and maintenance of new or substantially improved information systems.Represents and speaks on behalf of IT and IRS at professional meetings and conferences.Provides professional leadership and direction in the conceptual design, formulation, and development of major prototype and developmental systems.Conducts research in areas of great importance, such as artificial intelligence.Consults and collaborates with international experts to develop IT policies and direction.Functions as the recognized program expert and technical/professional expert sought after by outside authorities for consultation.Requirements
Conditions of EmploymentTelework Eligible Positions : Employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements.Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check.Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (ALL GRADES):
You must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-14 LEVEL:
To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-15 LEVEL:
To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level.EDUCATION:
See above IOR requirement that you must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.Additional Information
A 1-year probationary period is required.Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.This is a Non Bargaining unit position.Tour of Duty: Day Shift - start and stop times are between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Required Documents
