Senior Counsel on the Legal Investigations Team , part of the larger Global Investigations organization, your primary responsibility will be directing some of the most significant internal investigations for the company globally. The Legal Investigations role is unique in that the primary objective is to conduct thorough, objective and independent investigations, in order to fully uncover wrongdoing. Unlike some legal roles, which may focus more on defense of the company, the Legal Investigations role is focused on truly getting to the bottom of the improper behavior at issue, or clearly identifying control or policy gaps, so that the improper behaviors may be addressed and appropriate remediation may be undertaken. By identifying wrongdoing, risk, and control or policy gaps that then are the basis of administering effective accountability and remediation plans, you will be part of a robust internal investigations program, which is critical to fostering trust and strengthening relationships with associates, vendors, investors, and customers, and supports Walmart’s reputation as a good corporate citizen.What you'll do:Deliver investigative excellence directing legally privileged matters, through the timely, objective, thorough and independent investigation of some of the most significant allegations of wrongdoing globally for the Company.Collaborate with clients to develop mitigation strategies.Collaborate with officer-level clients on significant risks: seeking authority and obtaining informed consent to proceed with legal matters while reviewing legal documents, notices, and announcements and representing the company before courts of law, legislative bodies, governmental agencies, and other tribunals.Provide legal advice to the company by providing clients with an informed understanding of the client's legal rights, obligations, and risks to allow the client to make informed decisions.Counsel clients regarding legal compliance and costs of business initiatives; identifying the need for and directing training; reviewing legislative trends and significant legal decisions and representing the company before various administrative and judicial bodies.Lead high-level cross functional special projects.Identify global trends and significant financial integrity and other relevant matters for presentation and discussion in updates with Global Governance partners and other senior leadership in the business, such as the Controller’s office, Finance and Audit.Work with business partners/relevant stakeholders on updates or revisions to company policies and procedures.Focus on management of budgets and driving cost control.What you'll bring:Significant experience leading investigations as a prosecuting attorney or as a representative of a government entity like the Department of Justice or Securities and Exchange Commission.Proven track record of leading internal investigations in an in-house capacity or with a law firm.Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams.Global experience.Aggressively integrate inclusive behaviors into all aspects of your everyday business.Location:
