Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

Evaluates complex client area requirements and processes and designs or prepares application system specifications and develops, tests and implements efficient and cost effective application solutions. Includes issue resolution and on-going system maintenance.May lead the integration of vendor applications and consulting resources with existing applications and resources. May hold the development lead or sub lead role on a project and/or program.Works as technical consultant to programming staff and/or business unit to mentor staff in all phases of the program development, testing and implementation process. Participates in instructing, directing, and checking the design or applications work of others.Coordinates the activities of the section with the client area and other IT areas (e.g., infrastructure, testing, and solutions).Researches and evaluates new, alternative solutions, and/or architecture and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design including estimating costs as necessary.Acts as liaison between Business, vendor teams, product owners and applications areas ensuring adherence to requirements and user acceptance criteria.May participate in developing recommendations for best practices and implementation guidelines on Guidewire Insurance Suite platform.May perform additional duties as assigned.

Typically Director or aboveSkills, Knowledge & Abilities

Solid technical knowledge of high level programming languages, databases, interfaces, and familiarity with application program development alternatives.In-depth knowledge and experience with Agile system development life cycle required. Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and product-based software delivery preferred.Experience with Guidewire platform implementations is REQUIRED.Experience and knowledge of GW tools, GW Configurations (Incl. GOSU), Design and implementing integrations with other Guidewire products and 3rd Party Vendors.Experience and knowledge with Guidewire Cloud Platform implementation is a plus.Experience and knowledge in API driven development, testing and automation.Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with peers, IT Management and staff, and internal/external business partners/clients.Good understanding of Insurance functions and processes, both within the organization and across the industry, preferably commercial insurance industry.Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business related software systems or languages including J2EE technologies, Micro services etc.Knowledge of Guidewire Dev/Ops and testing framework is a plus.Experience in Guidewire version upgrades and Guidewire cloud migration is preferred.Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.Typically a minimum of total seven years of systems analysis and application program development experience, of which three years of Guidewire implementation experience is a must.Previous experience in working with distributed teams including internal and external vendors.Certifications required - Guidewire Associate - V10 and above versions.Guidewire Claim Center ACE certification is a plus.CNA is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities in the recruitment process.
