Position Overview

Salary Range:

Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $220,000.00 - $289,940.00. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, anticipates openings for qualified candidates for all ranks in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and/or Professor) in the following fields: General Neurology, Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias, Epilepsy, Headache, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Cognitive Neurology, Neurogenetics, Neurohospitalists, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuro-Oncology, Neuropsychology, Pain Management, Sleep, and Stroke.

Applications are being sought from candidates who possess M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees in the field of Neurology or equivalent who are eligible for licensure by the California Medical Board. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professor series.

The incumbent will participate in patient care, teach residents and students, perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity. Positions are dependent upon funding. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
