Job SummaryFreeWheel is looking for passionate Software Engineers to help design, build, and support our high-quality, innovative video advertising platform. This position is based in New York. FreeWheel helps the television industry to monetize their premium contents through a robust technology platform, which enables consumers to view high-quality videos on any devices including PC, smartphone, OTT device, set-top box, and traditional TV. FreeWheel’s New York Engineering Hub is a core part of our global engineering group that is building the one-stop solution for the TV industry to manage its billion-dollar revenue. Our tech platform is capable of handling billions of daily requests, processing terabytes of raw daily data, and optimizing clients’ business.Job DescriptionBe responsible for the complete lifecycle of software development, including designing, prototyping, implementation, testing, maintenance, and technical support.Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.Document and maintain software functionality.SupportSupport overall business.Solve issues in a technical way.CooperationPartner with global engineering, product, and operations teams to further incorporate collective innovations.QualificationsExperience with C/C++/Golang and network programming.Experience with large system software development is preferred.Experience with distributed systems and mission-critical systems is preferred.Strong passion for learning/practicing new techniques.Team working skills, good communication skills, willingness to work under pressure.Strong ability and persistence on technical support.Ability to work closely with global teams and accept additional working time besides normal working hours for meetings or collaboration with global teams.Advertising industry experience is a plus.EducationBachelor's Degree or above.Core ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conduct analysis to determine integration needs.Design new software and web applications, support applications under development, and customize current applications. Assist with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.Participate in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.Research, write and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports.Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products.
