12 monthsPosition Summary:The Electrical Designer will be responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and updating using Setroute, conduit and raceway design. Responsible to produce lower and higher tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope, modelling, including cable pull calculations, design of lighting using AGi32, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations and lightning protection systems. Develops specifications for equipment and material where deviation from standard documentation is required.Responsibilities:Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway).Responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and updating, conduit and aboveground raceway design.Works under the direction of Engineering Group Supervisor and Lead Designer.Responsible to produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using industry proven concepts and procedures.Must have proven 2D and 3D CADD skills.Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database.Responsibilities also include ensuring that the electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. May interface with Construction and Subcontractors.Must be able to effectively communicate and work well with others and within a team.Must be able to work well with other disciplines.Must know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft Windows suite of programs.Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.Qualifications and Skills:Basic Qualifications:Grade 23: AA/AS degree with 3 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years of related design experience.Grade 24: AA/AS degree with 5 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 9 years of related design experience.Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.Minimum Qualifications:Prior experience working in a Nuclear, Quality, and Safety Environment.Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.Hands-on Microsoft Office programs and other computer programs.Knowledge application of local/Polish and European codes and standards.Extensive knowledge application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.Extensive knowledge of electrical raceway and electrical equipment layouts.Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge industry-wide design tools, such as CAD 2D/3D, cable designing and routing software.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Familiar with standard programs.Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections in the database.Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects.Experience with Revit design tools.Experience with SmartPlant 3D design tools.Knowledge of design standards and guides and Standard Application Programs (BSAPS).Experience in construction interface and resolving field problems.Experience with AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant Design.
