HEVO is scaling the production of its Level 2 Rezonant wireless chargers, preparing to launch its mobile app, and building enterprise software solutions to meet customer needs.HEVO is seeking a staff devops engineer to manage HEVO’s cloud infrastructure, deployment and release pipelines for Journey enterprise software and mobile applications. This engineer will report to the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering on a day-to-day basis and have regular engagement with the company's engineering and product teams. This role represents an opportunity to build and release innovative software products for EV charging at HEVO Inc.RoleTechnical lead for HEVO’s cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelinesBuild, manage, optimize, and scale HEVO’s cloud infrastructure in AWS environmentOptimize the development and release CI/CD pipelines with automation and toolingDebugging production issues across AWS services and HEVO’s micro-services and build necessary tools for visualizationEstablish monitoring and alerting features to notify developers of issues right awayEnsure security and scalability of HEVO’s cloud infrastructureEstablish best-in-class software processes involving automated unit tests, CI/CD and documentationMonitor cloud infra costs and optimize how we use the servicesEstablish secure cloud infrastructure for integrating HEVO’s charging hardware and third-party charging hardware with the cloudResponsibilitiesBuild secure, robust, scalable, and maintainable cloud infrastructure in AWS environmentDevelop tools for automating CI/CD pipelines across different AWS environmentsManage and optimize AWS cloud technologies and services such as S3/Aurora/Kafka/Redis/EKS/Lambda/SQS/SNS to best utilize them for our needsLeverage AWS IoT services to manage device provisioning, device certificates, and telemetryDevelop secure cloud infrastructure to integrate hardware with the cloud.Enable third-party charging network integration by establishing secure cloud-to-cloud infrastructureMentor junior engineers by helping them understand cloud infrastructure, services and CI/CD processManage internal and external access to HEVO’s web portals and assetsCollaborate with development team and manage product releases and hot fixesImplement analytics for evaluating production uptimes and performance metricsQualificationsMinimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a DevOps engineerBA/BS degree in engineering (SW/HW preferred)Hands-on software/tooling development experience in NodeJS/Java/Golang/PythonKnowledge of containerization and orchestration with Docker and KubernetesStrong technical depth in deploying solutions involving cloud-based software using micro-service architecture, REST APIs, and mobile app (iOS, Android)Experience in working on AWS cloud services including AWS IoT requiredStrong knowledge in terraform to provision and manage AWS infrastructure preferredBasic knowledge of EV charging and standard protocols such as OCPP and OCPI preferredProficiency in software development processes and agile development processBe able to work with different team members and be a true self learnerExcellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skillsAbility to thrive in a dynamic startup environmentFit within culture based on company values: Honesty Empathy Vision and OptimismPassion for EV adoption and fossil fuel reduction
