We are a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.The Position:The mission of the App Platform team at GameChanger is to empower teams to effectively create, maintain, and deploy mobile apps at scale. App Platform stewards architecture foundations, modularization, dependency management, and various internal frameworks like observability, notifications, and feature toggling. The team’s primary customers are the engineering teams that work on the Android and iOS apps.As a senior iOS Engineer on the App Platform team, you will influence the engineering organization by driving strategic projects that anticipate developer needs, focusing primarily on the iOS platform.What You'll Do:Own and build foundational and scalable solutions for iOS engineers that work on multiple, domain-specific teams.Lead innovations of our mobile tech stack while it is being actively worked on. Our iOS codebase is transitioning from UIKit/RxSwift/Flux-based view models to SwiftUI/The Composable Architecture.Understand App Platform’s users by regularly interacting with iOS engineers.Help define the team’s technical roadmaps.Evangelize technical decisions across the engineering organization by commenting on and drafting design proposals, hosting tech talks, and pairing with engineers across teams.Who You Are:Have a deep technical understanding of the iOS platform, including operating system, first-party API (performance, concurrency, state, UI), dependency management, build configurations & artifacts, compiler, linker, runtime.Deliver code aligned with the patterns and principles of clean code/architecture of the iOS platform.Are a self-starter comfortable with identifying opportunities, defining their impact, and driving towards a desired outcome.Take a thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that considers tradeoffs and avoids over-engineering.Think about your solutions for both technical scale to handle millions of users, but also for organization scale: building for engineers of various backgrounds and experience levels in a fast-growing organization.Solicit and adjust to feedback; can communicate technical concepts across audiences.Experience:Our apps are written in Swift and have a Reactive architecture using technologies like RxSwift, Realm, and Swift Composable Architecture (TCA).Your team will also do Android development in Kotlin, so having a background there would be a bonus, but is not required.Our backend APIs are built with TypeScript, Node.js, Redis, Kafka, and PostgreSQL and run in AWS. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
