The Director of Leisure Sales is a business travel/leisure travel sales person who has demonstrated through performance a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions, and the hotel/business travel industry.Responsibilities include selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel, and wholesale groups. Duties include managing current accounts, ensuring proper solicitation of all transient markets, and includes a dynamic travel schedule to major cities within the market. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, presentations, maintaining well-organized documentation and reports, utilization of Hyatt technology systems, and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate. The Director of Leisure Sales will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales, and other staff meetings. The Director of Leisure Sales also works as a team member with the sales and catering staff and with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.Hyatt is a place where high expectations aren't just met - they're exceeded. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environmentRefined verbal and written communication skillsA minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated success in business travel or leisure salesMust be proficient in general computer knowledgePrefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent trainingPrefer selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation skills trainingCommunity involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
