Expedition Technology (EXP) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team to provide DevSecOps expertise across a wide range of programs. Our programs span across applied research & development along with deployed operational capabilities, requiring an understanding of tailoring DevOps best practices to new and existing projects, while keeping pace with the rapid changes in cloud and security tools and processes.
In this role, you will partner with software and machine learning (ML) engineers to develop and deliver scalable and secure cloud-native CI/CD pipelines that span the entire software life cycle. You’ll play an integral role in supporting EXP’s mission, which includes support of DoD and Intel Community customers. You’ll have the opportunity to combine cloud technologies with appropriate security and compliance attributes, with an emphasis on security automation to ensure rapid agile deliveries.
Responsibilities include:
Develop automation for existing processes in a cloud environment using tools such as CloudFormation, Ansible, and PackerContainer development and orchestration (Docker, Helm, Kubernetes/Rancher, ArgoCD)Building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.Develop and deploy DevSecOps capabilities within a multi-project, multi-team environmentUnderstanding git workflows (branching, etc.) and release engineering approaches to software developmentDelivering infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or PackerDeveloping Ansible playbooks for system configuration managementUnderstanding and applying AWS IAM roles and security policiesTroubleshooting Linux system networking, storage, and related services (i.e., HTTP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VLANs, etc.)Working within the constraints of NIST 800-53, 800-171, CMMC, or related compliance policies (e.g., CIS)
Nice to haves:
Knowledge of AWS Organizations for centralized user policy managementExperience with Python and Bash scripting for system automationUnderstanding of networking (VLANs, firewalls, subnets, proxy servers) in Linux environments
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experienceA minimum of 3 years of related work experienceCurrent active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraphUnderstanding git workflows (branching, etc.) and release engineering approaches to software developmentAt least 3 years of hands-on experience in each of the following:Git workflows (branching, etc.) and release engineering approaches to software developmentBuilding highly automated infrastructure and cloud-native applications deployed in AWS, GCP, or AzureDelivering infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or PackerOne or more configuration management tool such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef—preferably AnsibleAWS architecture, security, IAM roles and policiesAdvanced skills and expertise troubleshooting Linux system networking, storage, and related services (i.e., HTTP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VLANs, etc.)Understanding and familiarity with either NIST 800-53, 800-171, CMMC, or related compliance policies (e.g., CIS) and their implementation within a security automation context (e.g., Ansible)Security + certification (or CISSP) within 90 days of onboardingNetwork administration experience (VLANs, Firewalls)
