Position Description

CGI is looking for a Data Modeler/Engineer. At least 7+ years of overall experience as a Data Modeler/Engineer.

Work on projects for one of the largest financial institutions in US. Work in a challenging technical environment and gain exposure of advanced tools and technology suites. Should be able to work independently and manage the work on your own.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Develop data requirements through data modeling techniques and structured working sessions. Take action to express data requirements as 3rd Normal Form logical data models through review of source system documentation, review of system features, and workshop sessions.Create physical database design for the Snowflake data warehouse and other database technologies in partnership with other technical resources.Develop documentation of Data Lineage and Data Dictionaries to create a broad awareness of the enterprise data model and its applications.Design, develop and implement database systems based on customer requirements.Optimize database systems for performance efficiency.Prepare design specifications and functional documentations for assigned database projects.Perform space management and capacity planning for database systems.Develop database tables and dictionaries.Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.Identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects.Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis.Test databases and perform bug fixes.Troubleshoot database related issues in a timely fashion.Develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.Evaluate existing database and recommend improvements for performance efficiency.Develop best practices for database design and development activities.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

At least 7 years design and build complex data solutions.At least 6 years hands on experience working on Oracle and SQL Server database backward sync and bi-directional sync between mainframe and relational database.Rich experience in Data modelling Oracle Data Modeler, ERwin data modeler.Rich Experience of designing and implementation of database models (LDM & PDM), data flow diagrams, database schema, DB scripts.Expertise in database design and architecture, data modelling, data mapping & conversion and data load, and creating packages for data migration & transformation using open source and commercial tools for Oracle database.Work with technical and end users to understand business requirements and identify database/data solutions.In-depth expertise with data security, storage solutions, database virtualization and replication as well as other complex database/data technical tools and solutions.Define enterprise-level standards (coding, architectural, migration), platform and tool selection.Good Experience of analyzing functional & non-functional business requirements & converting into technical data requirements.Good experience of delivering data management goals & design principal in support of business goals of the organization.Hands on experience with shell scripting, migrating files from one server to another, implementing security while sharing files.Hands on experience in implementing security when the data migration is in-transit and at rest.Understanding of data modeling, data lakes, data driven insight, data quality and governance.Experience in hands on design, prototyping, development, configurations, testing and other implementation activities.

Strong Technical Background, Analytical, And Problem-solving Skills Are Required

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and capable of delivering under aggressive timelines.Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.Looking for self-motivated candidates who are hands on at their current positions and have hunger to learn new technologies.Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Capable of incident resolution during major incident process.Good time management and prioritization skills; self-starters especially welcome.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $67,800 - $180,200.
