We’ve created the only unbiased loan and insurance buying process out there, which makes finding options straightforward and clear.The new hire will be working on the backend of the customer facing application along with a front end engineer and collaborating with multiple teams - quoteEngine team responsible for generating quotes, admin team that support internal application used by sales/service team and ops team supporting all the back of the funnel processes.Responsibilities
Backend monitoring and support of the customer-facing application where customers fill out their home and auto profiles to request quotesMigrate the current architecture from backend written in Scala to Ruby and consolidate/eliminate services for easier maintenanceSupport post-deployment fallouts on projects worked on and released to productionDetermine operational feasibility by evaluating, analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutionsCross-team collaboration in driving the end to end delivery of Insurance quotesParticipating in the code reviews and design discussions with other engineersHave a strong sense of end to end ownershipAdhere to key principles: Code and design for best performance, scalability and resiliencyParticipate in Agile planning and standup meetingsParticipates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of softwareDevelop backend services using RubyBe a self-starter, capable of solving ambiguous and challenging technical problems with wide scopeDeliver trustworthy solutions for engineers allowing them to focus on experimentation, evolution, and delivery of high-quality featuresCollaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutionsBackend development including design, documentation, implementation, and testingWork alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practicesEducation and Experience Requirements
BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experienceUnderstand data structure concepts2-3 years of software development experience (from customer requirements -> functional spec -> design -> development/testing -> deployment and monitoring)Strong interpersonal and communication skills2+ years of experience building scalable, maintainable, production-quality services at cloud-scale with AWS platformUse tools and methodologies to create representations of workflows, user interfaces, data schemas, etcSolid understanding of software design and developmentExperience with third-party libraries and APIsExperience building AI/ML solutions to real problemsAbility to solve problems that span multiple interconnected systems / microservicesExcellent design and problem solving skillsCredible is open to hiring candidates in the following locations: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington.Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay ranges for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, are listed below. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.Pay Range
California, New York City, and Westchester County, NY Pay Range:$111,600—$150,000 USD
