You will join a talented team with many years of experience developing and testing software for our ATC systems. Your unique contributions and leadership will add value to our long-term vision to make our customer’s mission successful.Your RoleTest automation is a key pillar of our vision to excel in delivering outstanding software products for our customers. Our team is currently seeking a skilled and motivated lead software development engineer in test (SDET) to contribute to projects for our global customer base. You will collaborate with highly qualified engineers in Hillsboro, as well as in other locations across the United States and Europe, to support and enhance CI/CD software test frameworks for a VoIP system. Your role will involve operating within a structured software lifecycle, reviewing software requirements for testability, writing software test plans and test cases, executing these test plans to create test reports. You will get hands-on experience with our equipment to verify correctness in compliance with system, software, and statement coverage requirements. Collaboration with software development and system engineering teams will be an essential part of your role to achieve project objectives and schedules. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor other test engineers on the team as we continue to grow.Your WorkplaceOur Hillsboro R&D center is located in the Portland, OR area. We have a light, quiet, and modern work environment in a recently remodeled 44,000 sq. ft. facility with a fully stocked breakroom, indoor vertical bike racks, and walking/biking trails right next door. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, where we recognize the importance of close personal interactions for a successful team while also appreciating the benefits of consistent remote work.Occasional travel to U.S. and international locations will be needed. Eligibility to work in the US, as well as the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, will be required.What we need to see from youB.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or other relevant engineering degree.A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience.Proven ability to understand, design, and test complex software systems.Experience in software testing for safety critical applications (medical, automotive, aerospace, or defense).Understanding of the software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.Excellence in scripting with Python is required.Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development (CD).Familiar with DevOps processes and tools (TeamCity, GitLab, Jenkins) is desired.Knowledge of programming with C, C++, PHP, SQL, QT QML, and Rust is desired.Experience with Linux OS and Virtualization Management platforms (e.g. VMWare, Proxmox, oVirt) is desired.Familiar with test case management and bug tracking tools (TestLink, Redmine, Bugzilla).Excellent communication (verbal and written) in English.Ways to stand outKnowledge of DO‒178, DO‒278, ED‒153, ED‒109, or CMM standards.Experience with VoIP protocols SIP and RTP.Knowledge and configuration of network switches (e.g. Cisco, etc.).This is a full-time position with a total compensation target salary range of $132k-185k plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
