The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure to build at scale.Job Description
The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for:Design and implementation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into multiple on-prem solutionsDevelopment and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions moving forwardOverall reliability and security of these services and the environments they are run inMonitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure servicesAs a software engineer on this team, you will be a key contributor to platform development activities. Our teams are developing services, tools, and processes to support other Motorola Solutions' engineering teams as well as deliver solutions to our customers. You will be working on a high-velocity, results-oriented team that leverages cutting-edge technologies and techniques. The right individual will be motivated and will have a passion for automation, deployment processes and enabling innovation. Your efforts will help to shape the engineering culture and best practices across Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise organization.Responsibilities will include:Network, security design and implementation of core services used by our Public Safety solutionsSupport on-prem platform operations and sovereign operations including issue troubleshooting and resolutionDefine and meet scalability, availability, security, and performance goalsRapidly build and evolve major features in collaboration with product managementKnowledge of On-Prem platforms (Servers, Switches, Networking)Previous experience with L3/L4 networking (load balancers/firewalls)Experience with monitoring toolsExperience with GitHubResearch and experiment with key technologies, architectures, and standardsAttend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customersAssist in reviews and audits conducted at various points in the software life cycleQualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years of combined experience in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Security EngineeringExperience with one or more of the following strongly preferred: Layer 3/4 Networking design and management; Kubernetes cluster design and management.Familiarity with Public Safety systems a plusSolid coding and service development skills, with experience in at least one of the following toolsets or languages: Shell, PythonDevelop quality scalable, tested and reliable applications using industry best practicesAbility to work in a fast paced, evolving, growing and agile environmentStrong level of curiosity and interest to learnExcellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to nontechnical audiencesSelf motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environmentPrimary SkillsLinux Administration and ScriptingPython, ShellNetworking, FirewallingNGINXKubernetes and DockerActive DirectoryGitOpsDNSNice to have Skills:Security CertificationsAzure CertificationsKubernetes CertificationAzure DevOpsServerlessTerraformHelmThis position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.Must be a US CitizenEmployer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.We are open to candidates working remotely located in the US.Basic Requirements
