Optometrist - Brownville, Maine
We invite an Optometrist to join a respected rural health center (FQHC) with a 40+ year history of successful operation. This nonprofit organization has practices in six towns providing primary care, urgent care, mental health, dentistry, podiatry, physical therapy, and other healthcare services to thousands of patients across a sizeable stretch of northern Maine.
You will launch a new eyecare service in this established outpatient health center where space is being renovated to add Optometry alongside primary care, mental health, and other services. You will collaborate with primary care providers in a rewarding role seeing adults and families – including many who are uninsured or underinsured. In addition to examining and diagnosing eye issues and impairments, you will prescribe corrective lenses, prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat eye conditions, and conduct occasional emergency treatment for patients. When ramped up, you can expect a moderate volume of 16 patients/day. Enjoy a terrific weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Practice in a modern facility with state-of-the-art technology and excellent support so you can provide the best patient care possible.
We are offering:
Welcoming and supportive practice 75 minutes from Bangor
Relocation assistance to bring you to beautiful Maine
Secure employment with established community health center
Rewarding position in rural/underserved location
Terrific weekday schedule – no nights, no weekends, no holidays!
Competitive salary based on your experience
Health and dental, life & disability
Paid vacation time – 3 weeks/year one, then 4 weeks – PLUS 10 paid holidays
Another week of paid leave plus a budget for your CME
Participation in a retirement plan WITH employer contributions!
This is a NHSC loan repayment site
