Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for collaborating with various departments to create accurate budgets, forecasts, tracking actual performance, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop & maintain financial models for forecasting, planning, and decision support.Assist in the annual budget and periodic forecast processes, including being the lead on assigned departments.Analyze historical data, market trends, and business drivers to inform budget assumptions.Review budgets and forecasts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with approved firm objectives.Prepare analysis, written narratives, and highlights on financial results by conducting variance analysis on actual versus budget and historical comparisons.Analyze financial data, draw conclusions, and present recommendations on decisions and actions.Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting. Ensure data and reports supporting ad-hoc analyses produced are accurate and delivered on time.Identify areas for process improvements related to budget, forecasting, and other standard operating procedures.Lead special projects that support management decision-making.Secondary DutiesConduct testing of financial systems and reporting products created or used by the department.Perform other duties as assigned.Working ConditionsJob is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.Long hours are required periodically.Education:

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.Experience:

At least five years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or planning.Special Knowledge:

Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of law firm economics and modeling. Knowledge of finance and accounting principles.Technical Skills:

PC familiarity with a proficient understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of OLAP tools such as Panorama or Business Objects Web Intelligence is preferred.Attributes:

Ability to review, understand, and analyze data as well as compile the results of analysis into clear reports. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization. Ability to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously. Should be proactive and possess problem-solving skills.Qualifications:

Possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
