NP/PA - Cardiothoracic Surgery - Fargo, NDUtilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.Education/Training:Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.Responsibilities:Practice in high-volume clinic & hospital settingFollow-up appointmentsAssist in OR in CT/CV/Device surgeriesManagement of CCU/ICU patients; Pre- and Post-op orders, discharge planning, roundingCollaborative practice with excellent clinic staff10-12 patients per day1-5 procedures per dayWork Monday-Friday plus on-call for emergent casesOnce fully staffed, rotation will be 1:4 call coverage on weekends; includes management of critical patients, weekend discharge, and surgical coverage for emergent surgeries.Schedule rotation in clinic, OR, hospital roundsMinimum Requirements:Previous surgical experience required, CV preferred; may consider new graduates if extensive background/experience in surgical field.Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.Current certification in CPR.National certification in applicable area.Successful completion of credentialing process prior to practice.Looking for an experienced surgical practitioner to join our continually growing Heart & Vascular Team in our multispecialty clinic and hospital campus located in Fargo, ND.
