This is a full-service practice offering normal and high-risk obstetrics (including managing about 320 deliveries annually) along with preventive care, contraceptive counseling and family planning, menopause and hormone management, infertility evaluation, and gynecologic surgery.
Practice in a progressive, award-winning 65-bed acute care community hospital that provides a wide range of services for more than 40,000 area residents. This nonprofit, patient-centered organization is part of Maine’s largest healthcare system. They boast excellent patient satisfaction ratings, and very low turnover. This medical center is nationally renowned for its innovative programs in rural healthcare. Their 40-member medical staff provides excellent colleague interaction and referral relationships!
The Women’s Health group is based in a stunning medical arts building designed to remind you of the beautiful outdoors more than a hospital. If the open atrium and fireplace don’t impress you, the floor to ceiling windows with forest and garden views surely will! This structure is conveniently attached to the medical center on a picturesque campus where the buildings sit nestled into pine trees, surrounded by nature trails and a spectacular garden ideal for picnics or meditation.
The practice is fully equipped with the latest ultrasound and spiral CT Scanners, and modern laparoscopy equipment. Deliveries are performed in modern hospital birthing suites, while many procedures are done in the office, including vaginal ultrasound, video colposcopy, LEEP, NSTs, and urodynamics. Call is shared on a comfortable 1:4 basis.
Teaching opportunities are available too, when medical students and residents from Portland and Boston rotate to the hospital.
