About the Job

The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School has an opening for an Integrative Biology and Physiology Researcher. Lead the design, implementation, and development of research projects to study acquired and inherited cardiomyopathies and skeletal muscle diseases and seek potential therapeutics for these disease states, with a particular focus on muscular dystrophy research. Review data analysis of team members and provide direction for presentations and publications. Write reviews of literature in the field of molecular and integrative cardiology. Review emerging scientific literature and participate in presentations and scientific meetings in the field. Oversee the development, writing, and submission of grant applications for funding. Serve as a mentor for lab personnel, students, and fellows.Qualifications

Required Qualifications (must be mentioned on application/resume) : Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Bioscience and Biotechnology, Bioscience, Biotechnology, or a related degree in the Biomedicine field plus two (2) years of post-doctorate experience working in muscular dystrophy research. This experience must include publication in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of cardiac and muscle molecular research and integrative physiology; research in therapeutics for cardiac and muscle molecular abnormalities; analysis of scientific data using SPSS, Matlab, Prism and/or Stata; experience participating in the grant writing process; and experience working with genetic models with temporal-spatial control of gene excision.How To Apply
