Position Overview

The Staff Accountant's primary responsibility is to support the accounting department through various organizational and general accounting duties. This will include assuming responsibility for the daily processing of lease and loan originations, recording new business, and entering ACH information in a timely and accurate manner. During month-end, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

The Staff Accountant will be a part of a team that maintains and implements process improvements where appropriate to ensure the close and reporting process is efficient and accurate. The Staff Accountant must be able to work under tight deadlines and provide timely, high-quality, and accurate work products.Commitment To Internal Control

The incumbent must understand, abide by, and uphold the system of internal controls related to the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Enter manual wire/ACH funding records into AP sub-ledger.Enter manual check request records into AP sub-ledger.Prepare wire transfers and ACH payments.Provide support for daily fundings across multiple business lines.Import new business funding files to Great Plains.Perform one-time Info-Lease ACH transmissions.Create new vendor records ensuring proper documentation is obtained before the first payment is made.Prepare various monthly journal entries along with monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.Assist in month-end closing, ensuring that transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures.Provide internal and external auditors with any supporting documentation regarding requirements/queries and any additional insights which may be required for related questions.Cross-train and provide backup to teammates within the department.Provide support to the finance team as needed.Perform ad-hoc projects and analysis as required.KPI’s

Record new fundings into Great Plains daily.Involve others in all day work, projects, process changes, and decisions.Ensure data integrity and accuracy.Account Analysis and reconciliation.Assist in external and internal audit processes.Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority:

Experience with accounting software systems (Great Plains, Info-Lease, Blackline).Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Comfortable working independently as well as with a team.Ability to prioritize tasks to manage competing deadlines.Competencies

BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting or equivalent experience.3 years within an accounting role in a leasing or banking environment a plus.Licensing and Certification:

Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in the operation of office equipment.Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person.Body motor skills sufficient to enable movement from one office location to another.The salary will be between $68,000 - $82,000 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus. The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, and education.Additional Benefits
