Designs, develops, tests and maintains applications or systems programs. Gathers and provides input on functional specifications and requirements. Supports business user questions/issues regarding applications and/or systems issues and availability. Develops and maintains technical documentation. May perform other related technical support for the department or college.The National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) at Carnegie Mellon University has an open position for an experienced DevOps Engineer. We are people with a desire to make robust software using agile development processes. Our software has been deployed on robotic systems that work under the hot Arizona sun, in the middle of a dense forest, and on a chaotic factory floor.Your primary responsibilities include:

Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructureSelecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD toolsConfiguring and managing data source containing large amount of robotic sensor dataManaging CI/CD toolsCreating and maintaining development tools and reporting tools for robotic systemsWorking on ways to automate and improve development and release processesRequired Qualifications:

B.S. in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience (Any more is a bonus)3+ years of DevOps experienceStrong Linux system administration backgroundProficient knowledge of Docker, Jenkins, and AnsibleProficient scripting skills (Bash and Python preferred)Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQLExcellent troubleshootingAwareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principlesTechnical communication skillsAbility to participate in a cross-functional teamExperience work with Bitbucket, Jira, and GitWe especially want to hear from you if you have experience or qualifications in ANY of the following areas:Experience with CMakeWhy NREC?
