SUMMARY
The General Superintendent is a business partner with overall responsibility for the success and profitability of the construction operations of the Company. He or she plans for and directs all field-related functions to include logistics, safety, reporting, and mentorship, which encompasses Operations Management, Business Development, Marketing, Pre-Construction, Estimating, Scheduling, Field Operations, and Project Management. Responsible for administering corporate organizational procedures and policies by performing the primary duties outlined below, either personally or through subordinate managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following and other assigned duties:
Standardized preparation meetings with each trade before each feature of work starts. Deep-dive review of the approved submittals, plans, and specs before any work commences.
Standardized Site Logistics Plan. All projects must update this plan on a weekly basis and post it in the site office.
The superintendent must own the schedule and provide weekly updates to the project schedule. The General Superintendent must have a working knowledge of MS Project and/or P6.
Monitor daily reports to ensure they are being completed correctly and pictures need to be taken from the same location.
Superintendents must sign off on every Subcontract / Major PO SOW before they are issued and review the Cost Projection Reports on a monthly basis.
Develop the H. J Russell Safety Culture, including safety glasses 100% of the time, an incentive plan to recognize good safety, and a disciplinary plan for safety infractions.
Standardized Subcontractor orientation with video and project-specific orientation sticker on hard hats.
Standardized Safety inspection process through Procore, performed weekly by Superintendents and monthly by PM and PE.
All subcontractors must pull a daily permit from the Superintendent before any digging commences each day.
Engage with Ron Decker for mentorship around leadership and assistance in a standardized structure.
Complete Workstyle Action Summary with Sara Fernald and meet with her weekly for coaching.
Demonstrate the ability to support team members in their personal and professional development.
Responsible for the bottom-line Gross Profit of the Group and overall management of the team and operations.
Work with the VP to formulate and administer short-term and long-term goals, strategies, and operational procedures.
Review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to assess performance and progress toward strategic goals.
Confers with the VP to review achievements and discuss adjustments to improve performance and profitability.
Work with the Marketing Manager to identify new business opportunities and bolster company marketing material.
Monitors all management activities to ensure contractual obligations are met and client satisfaction is assured.
Ensures that the Group is staffed with appropriately trained professionals and that employees are afforded development opportunities.
Monitors the pre-construction analysis and ensures competent proposals are submitted to owners/clients.
Accountable for the overall performance and growth of the Group, responsible for progress reporting and finance forecasting.
Performs work in a safe manner and actively promotes a culture of planning for safety.

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Group, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with RUSSELL’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Construction.
Fifteen years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience with Joint Venture delivery method is a plus.
Experience working in the North Texas Market.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Production experience with Microsoft Suite, Primavera P6, CMiC, and Procore. OSHA 30 certified.
