In this role, you will be collaborating closely with internal Hyatt departments such as Development, Operations, and Brand as well as Franchise Owners and their outside consultants where you’ll be creating and updating the next generation of Hyatt Hotels. You enjoy working with others, are results-driven, and are looking for a variety of opportunities to develop personally and professionally.The RoleIn this role, the Design Manager will be responsible for multiple Hyatt Hotel projects throughout the Americas region. These projects will range from New Construction and renovations to adaptive reuse, conversions, and everything in between. The role will be focused on Hyatt’s Select Service Brands which include Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, and Caption by Hyatt. Using the Hyatt Brand Standards as a baseline and an eye for design, this individual will help guide external developers, ownership groups, and their design consultants through the process of designing and opening a Hyatt Hotel.Additional responsibilities include creating concept layouts, developing area programs, reviewing prototype documentation, visiting properties, PIP documentation, and general tracking of all assigned hotel projects.This individual must be:A Problem Solver who is also flexible, open-minded, and a self-starter!A Collaborator who will enjoy working with both internal Hyatt teams and external consultants and owners.A Mentor who is willing to help teach younger team members.An Explorer who is willing to travel when needed (10-20%).A Creative who is willing to solve a problem from a different angle.QualificationsExperience Required:5-8 years of design experience with 3+ years in hospitality either working with or for major hotel brands.Experience Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, interiors, or a related field.Architectural License preferred but not required.AutoCAD, Bluebeam a must.The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all-encompassing.
