The Attorney, Insurance Legal is responsible for providing legal services related to Jackson's annuity and insurance business. The Attorney is responsible for providing advice and support related to the company's overall insurance business, including regulatory comment letters, product contracts for fixed, fixed index, registered index-linked, variable and contingent deferred annuities, and product administration and distribution. The Attorney, Insurance Legal is responsible for the legal aspects of product development, product administration, and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings under federal securities laws. This role reports directly to the Associate General Counsel (AGC) of Insurance Legal.Essential Responsibilities
Provides advice on all aspects of insurance regulatory issues, including state and federal matters.Provides legal services in support of the company’s product development and drafting processes, including providing legal services and strategic advice in support of the SPRINT product development process.Coordinates with other Legal and Compliance units to provide services to the SPRINT team.Provides input, approval and legal advice throughout the various stages of product development, including concept and design, development of product specifications, and drafting of specimen contracts, endorsements and administrative forms.Consults with and provides legal advice to various company departments regarding federal and state securities laws, in connection with the product development and federal and state filing process.Prepares and files required SEC registration statements for all variable, registered index-linked, and contingent deferred insurance products and maintains related documentation within the Insurance Legal product development area.Coordinates with internal stakeholders and the SEC staff on registration statement filings and other required regulatory filings.Coordinates with other company departments to acquire required information for filings and on various internal reviews of prospectus changes.Coordinates with Jackson National Asset Management (JNAM) on underlying fund information and handling of periodic filings (N-CEN, 24f-2) required of the separate accounts.Serves as point of contact for business units and various operational departments for purposes of securities laws, as they relate to our insurance and annuity products.Conducts legal research and analysis and provides legal advice.Coordinates with the Compliance department on federal securities laws and related compliance issues.Participates in industry conference calls that address developments in the laws governing insurance law generally, variable, registered index-linked, contingent deferred, fixed, and fixed annuity products.Other Duties

Project management skills.Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.Strong attention to detail, editing and proofreading skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate important legal concerns/principles to business units.Excellent research, analysis, and drafting skills.Strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills, with ability to provide alternate approaches and solutions.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, Excel and Outlook.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, and internal and external contacts.Solid working knowledge of the annuity industry.Knowledge of federal securities laws and rules applicable to variable insurance products, registered index-linked insurance products, contingent deferred annuity products, and an understanding of the state regulatory structure and state regulatory issues.Qualifications
